In order to ensure the most current quality information is available as broadly as possible, the makers of medicines partner with other organizations who share the common goal of safe and responsible OTC medicine use. Our partners are subject-matter experts, government agencies, healthcare professionals, and serve as trusted resources for consumers.
In many efforts, our educational foundation works with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the primary public health government agency with responsibility over OTC medicines.
Our foundation also works with healthcare professional societies other subject-matter experts. For our efforts on safe use of medicines and educating parents about the intentional abuse of cough medicines, the makers of medicines have worked or are working with the following:
- American Pharmacists Association
- American Academy of Pediatrics
- American Academy of Family Physicians
- Partnership for a Drug-Free America
- Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America
- D.A.R.E. America
In addition, partners of the foundation include such organizations as the National Women’s Health Resource Center, the National PTA, and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation.
The foundation’s largest collaborative effort will involve a host of experts dedicated to providing parents and healthcare professionals with information about the safe use of pediatric cough and cold medicines.
